Grilled Black Pearl Oyster & Steak
Grilled Black Pearl Oyster Mushroom and Steak
Ingredients:
For the Marinade:
- 200g black pearl oyster mushrooms, cleaned and sliced
- 200g sirloin or ribeye steak
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme (or fresh thyme leaves)
- 1 teaspoon paprika (smoked or regular)
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
For Serving:
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions:
- In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, black pepper, dried thyme, paprika, red pepper flakes, and fresh lemon juice to create the marinade.
- Place the steak in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour half of the marinade over the steak, ensuring it's evenly coated. Reserve the other half of the marinade for the mushrooms.
- Seal the dish or bag and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or preferably, marinate the steak for up to 4 hours in the refrigerator. Make sure to turn the steak occasionally to distribute the marinade.
- While the steak is marinating, prepare the black pearl oyster mushrooms. Place them in a separate bowl and pour the reserved marinade over them. Toss the mushrooms to coat them evenly with the marinade. Set aside.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (around 400°F or 200°C).
- Remove the steak from the marinade and let it sit at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes before grilling. This allows for more even cooking.
- Place the marinated steak on the preheated grill. Grill the steak for about 4-6 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust grilling time based on your desired level of doneness). Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature – it should read 130-135°F (54-57°C) for medium-rare.
- While the steak is grilling, arrange the marinated black pearl oyster mushrooms on the grill as well. You can use a grill basket or skewers to keep them from falling through the grates.
- Grill the mushrooms for about 4-5 minutes per side until they are tender and have nice grill marks.
- Once the steak and mushrooms are done, remove them from the grill and let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute and keeps the steak juicy.
- Slice the grilled steak against the grain into thin strips.
- Serve the sliced steak and grilled black pearl oyster mushrooms together on a platter. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and lemon wedges for a bright, fresh finish.
- Enjoy your delicious and flavorful grilled black pearl oyster mushroom and steak! It's a perfect combination of savory and smoky flavors that's sure to satisfy your taste buds.
