Florida Fungi Farm Chronicles: Vol 4

Florida Fungi Farm Chronicles: Vol 4

Ivan Herenchak-Jones

Greetings fungi lovers!

It has been a few weeks since our last chronicle and boy has a lot happened! We have been attending local markets and getting our product out to the public and learning so very much in the process.

We recently took a weekend away from the markets to attend the Georgia Mushroom Festival and it was a blast! We're happy to tell you all about it, but Alan Rockefeller says it best in this overview of the event:

It was a magical experience in the beautiful Georgia countryside. We can hardly wait for next year!

Attending the Georgia Mushroom Festival really invigorated us to get back to our farm and get working on our long to-do list of things to expand and improve our facility and our products. We just constructed a 4x8 HEPA filter fan wall for our lab which allows us to do our lab work in a much cleaner and more convenient fashion. We have also constructed some ramps for the various thresholds in our space which now allows us to roll our autoclave right to our filter fans. This will decrease our vectors for contamination and allow us to work much more ergonomically!

Aside from the equipment upgrades, we have also brought some new cultures back with us from the Georgia Mushroom Festival which we are thrilled to get growing. Stay tuned for some sneak peeks in the coming weeks!

Thanks again to all of you who love mushrooms, fungi, nature, and a healthy lifestyle. We're here for you. Reach out to us with any questions, comments, etc. that you may have for us. We want to hear from you!

Mush love,
Ivan & Gabi
